Now THIS is a good hair day....
Okay, so this was taken from Clumps (lol @ me sourcing myself). This was a good hair day! And I didn't even do anything. In fact, the locs were washed two weeks ago and braided down. The crinkles are still there and the color is poppin'. I'm still shocked that I have hair touching my back. I'm not exaggerating when I say I haven't had hair grow down this long in years.
But man...after looking at this photo again, I felt like crying. Where is the definition in my face? I think the fat face is coming back. Um yeah...2 miles a day obviously ain't gettin' it. So I've been running 3.
Which reminds me...gotta do a post how I maintain my locs while working out everyday. Remember when I first started loc'ing and talked about it here? With the maturation of the locs, it has gotten better!

Can't wait for that post! I sure need it. Mine are a week old today and I'm already feeling that ugly duckling stage. LOL
A week old? Awwww!! I remember the days. Giiirl, you have me reminiscing to back when I had those babies. It wasn't pretty so I know exactly what you're going through. *hugs*
I think your hair looks great...but the body negativity is not so cool.
I understand you commitment to dieting and the 50 million pound challenge but as someone who is so outspoken about loving natural hair-i think you should give yourself a bit more slack about body stuff. Some people just have round faces-I know I do.
I'm anti-diet and embrace HAES which means I eat right, exercise and let the pounds fall where they may.
I don't mean to go hard but I just wanted to say body-hate is sometimes just as bad as hair-hate.
Zayna---> Right you are. Weight loss and maintenance will always be a challenge for me. I am very hard on myself physically only because I know that if I slack off…I am even more at risk for diabetes, cancers, the return of the high blood pressure, etc. I am definitely not down with body-hate either. The “fat face” is a just an unwelcomed reminder that I’m “slackin’ on my pimpin’” (lol)…I should probably be a little more sensitive. Thank you for THAT welcomed reminder. :)
I think you're beautiful and the humility of your response to me proves it even more.
Keep rocking!
Muaaahhh!!!
Thanks for all the info on locs. I'm new to this so your pictures and the information you give is very helpful. Your air is gorgeous. I love the color. ...I'm about 2 months into locing, I started by interlocing which has worked pretty good for me. I've had a little slippage but no unraveling.
